I am an Associate Professor (Teaching) and Director of Undergraduate Development and Mentoring in the Department of Economics at the University of Southern California (USC).

A core part of my professional mission is creating a supportive and rigorous academic experience for our students. Alongside my classroom teaching, I serve as faculty advisor to the Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE) California Alpha Chapter; our principal undergraduate student organization, the USC Economics Association; and our student-run journal, the USC Economics Review. I am also a member of the Association for Mentoring and Inclusion in Economics (AMIE). In recognition of my commitment to student growth, I received the USC Mentoring Award for Faculty Mentoring Undergraduate Students for the 2024–2025 academic year.

My academic expertise spans microeconomics, the economics of innovation, and telecommunications policy. My research examines the economics of cloud computing, spectrum management regimes, and the regional economic effects of catastrophic events. Prior to my current appointment, I served as a Scholar in Residence at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, where I helped establish the Media, Economics and Entrepreneurship (M2E) program. I have also served as a Research Associate at the USC Center for Risk and Economic Analysis of Threats and Emergencies (CREATE) and as a Google Policy Fellow at the New America Foundation in Washington, D.C.

Beyond the classroom, I am writing an intermediate microeconomic theory textbook and coauthoring the three-volume Essential Mathematics for Economists series. The series progresses from The Freshman Foundation, designed for students beginning their undergraduate studies, through The Undergraduate Toolkit, which supports intermediate economics coursework, to The Graduate School Bridge, which prepares advanced students for the mathematical rigor of graduate study.
